Welcome

A Trusted Local Team, Not a Call Centre

Marrickville has no shortage of electricians. Finding one who turns up when they say and stands behind the work years later is harder.

That's us. Marrickville is on our regular run, and its mix of Vietnamese and Greek family homes, breweries and warehouse studios keeps an electrical crew busy.

Every job runs under NSW licence #452529C, with the price agreed in writing before we commit to anything. The about page covers how the crew works.

What we do

Electrical Services, From Power Points to Full Rewires

A single licensed crew covers everything, from swapping one fitting to renewing a whole house, and it all gets priced in writing up front. This is the spread.

Not sure which service you need?

Call us and tell us what is going on. We will point you in the right direction and give you clear pricing before we start.

What Older Marrickville Homes Need from a Sparkie

Marrickville is largely Federation and interwar stock, terraces, semis and California bungalows in solid double brick raised between the late 1800s and the 1930s. Units cut from former factory and warehouse sites sit in between.

You see that mix first in the wiring. Double-brick bungalows and interwar semis often still hide rubber-insulated cabling in their walls and roof cavities, gone brittle after decades in the warm river basin.

Plenty of untouched terraces off Illawarra Road still run ceramic rewireable fuse boards that passed their safe working life years ago. Replacing one is usually the first safety job we recommend, and that upgrade is the biggest single win in a house like it.

Load is the other recurring problem. Add an extra bathroom, a rear studio or a converted attic to a slim terrace and the single-phase board carries far more than it was wired for.

Warehouse conversions bring their own demands. Stripping an old brick factory near Marrickville Metro back to the shell almost always means a full rewire to today's rules before any studios go in.

It's the same story along Marrickville Road. We look at the board and the opened-up walls first, then price the work.

When You Need an Emergency Electrician

Some faults can't wait for a weekday booking, and a hot-plastic smell is the clearest of them. Call straight away if you notice any of these:

  • A hot or acrid smell coming off a power point or the board
  • Scorching or heat you can feel around an outlet or light
  • A safety switch that keeps flicking off the second you reset it
  • Crackle, buzz or a visible spark at any switch or socket
  • Part of the house gone dark while everything else runs on
  • Cabling you can see charred, exposed or overheating

If the whole street is dark, the fault usually sits with the Ausgrid network. Everything from your switchboard in is our job.

Autumn leaf-fall from the valley's figs and planes clogs gutters, and after a heavy Cooks River downpour a soaked board is one of the most common emergency calls we take.

Turn it off at the switchboard if it's safe to reach, then call. Response is fast, often same or next day, and sooner for a genuine emergency.

Why Marrickville Keeps Choosing Us

Marrickville skews young and mixes owned terraces with rented units, so a sparkie who answers the phone and explains things plainly gets remembered. Here's what brings people back.

Straight Talk, Plain English

Standards jargon gets translated as we go, whether it's a safety switch (RCD) or the wiring code, so you know what each part of the job is for.

The Price We Quote Is the Price You Pay

One fixed amount, put in writing before work begins. No hourly clock, and no surprises on the invoice.

Backed for Life

Finished work carries a lifetime workmanship guarantee. If a fault is ever down to our workmanship, we put it right ourselves, and no labour bill lands your way.

A Track Record You Can Read

More than 600 five-star reviews stand behind the name. One homeowner, Susan, called the crew knowledgeable and professional throughout, and recommends us to everyone she knows.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A handful of things Marrickville homeowners tend to check before booking. If something is not here, raise it on the call.

Do you offer emergency electrical work?

Yes, day or night for the genuine ones. A visible spark, smoke or a dead board gets priority, and a licensed sparkie helps you make it safe over the phone.

Why do older Marrickville homes need switchboard upgrades?

The old ceramic fuse panels date from an era of far smaller loads and carry no RCD safety switches. Add a bathroom or a rear studio to a narrow terrace and the old board can't keep up.

How much does an electrician cost in Marrickville?

We don't charge by the hour. You get a fixed written price before we start, and $50 off if it's your first job with us.

Are your electricians licensed and insured?

Yes. Every job runs under NSW Electrical Contractor Licence #452529C with full insurance, and you can look the licence up on the NSW register before we arrive.

Do I get a Certificate of Compliance after the work?

For notifiable work, yes, and it is lodged with NSW Fair Trading. It's included in the quoted price, never an extra.

What brands of switches and fittings do you install?

Switchgear is Clipsal and Hager, and the lighting side runs SAL and Beacon. Proper gear, not cheap imports, which is why it's still working a decade on.
